CD Cover Art

Musicians often use photos of themselves as the art on their CD covers; we do like to see what the performers look like, and the tone and attitude in their image. But we also see the creative eye of musicians, as a number of them design their own CD covers. David LaMotte, a North Carolina musician designed his CD covers. Below we see the CD cover designed by another musician with a base in North Carolina, Lawrence App.

Harley Brown's Original Art about Native Americans in Demand

Sunday Morning on ABC today told a story about Harley Brown's powerful original art showing Native Americans. His chalk portrait of Sitting Bull sold for $30,000. Put Harley Brown on my list to research.

Carol Kurtz Walsh, Digital Artist

Carol Kurtz Walsh is a well known psychotherapist in the Washington DC area. She writes for the local new age newspaper and does some beautiful digital art.

Deborah Koff, The Center for Touch Drawing

Sometimes I don't have time to research more, but I'm interested in getting back to it. That's the case with this site for Deborah Koff, and The Center for Touch Drawing.

Isn't it possible that just having a brief mention, just enough to start your curiosity, might be more interesting than reading more?

The Lady who Matched the Art

This lady looked like she matched this art booth. With grayish outfit similar to the graying metal art pieces, with cutouts in her pants, and with a blue wooden pike fish in her hands, up to the orange hat, she looked like she was part of the show!

The Lady in the Black Rimmed Hat

Not only was the stained glass brilliant, but take a look at the shine in this woman's smile!
Thank you!

Nature Photographer Tim Wilson

Tim Wilson had some stunning nature photographs. I especially liked the blue mountain range visible in this picture. On the other side of the screen was a spectacular image he called Chaos of Cranes, if I remember right, with a cacophony of birds in movement.
Visit his photography at Earthbound Images.

Carol Bridges, Bloomington, Indiana Artist/Quilter

CarolBridgesArtQuilts.com

Decorating the wall inside the BloomingFoods Coop on East 3rd Street in Bloomington, Indiana was this conceptually and visually gorgeous quilt. I couldn't resist taking an image to post her and publicize Carol Bridges' art. If you visit her site, listed just below the image, you'll see many very rich and poetic quilts.

Carey Smith - Awakening Wisdom

Carey Smith is an extraordinarily gifted woman. She's an educator: developer of the Spirit of Training teacher training program for massage therapists; and co-founder of The Body Therapy Institute, an exceptional school for the study of massage and bodywork. She's also an artist, a calling she only recently answered in recent years.

Twice she has hosted an art exhibit called Awakening Wisdom, a beautiful exhibit, set in the countryside at South Wind Farm on Silk Hope Road in Siler City, North Carolina.

I attended her first exhibit and was moved to tears at the delicate beauty of the colors, designs, collages, displays, poetry and natural objects. It was held in a beautiful wood floor room, surounded by walls of windows facing open fields and trees. The beauty was almost too much for me to hold all at once.

To view photos from her most recent exhibit, and to photos of her art, visit Awakening Wisdom.

Scott Ainslie, Blues Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter

First caught sight of Scott Ainslie at the Six String Cafe in Cary, North Carolina. Since then have seen him perform about five times, and been very moved by his history-telling about African American life as it is reflected in the blues.

See full post at Sing SongBird.

Lisa Uncorked

Lisa's blog, Lisa Uncorked, is a must read for anyone with heart and soul and compassion and humor about how hard life can be. They say God never gives us any more than we can handle. I say, they don't know what they're talking about. When God gives us more than we can handle, some people die. But Lisa brings more love, more laughter, more creativity and more determination than I could ever hope to have.

She's a talented writer, a talented scrapbooker and card maker, a very devoted wife and mother.

More to come.
